One theme comes up again and again: the surprise of the setting. The chalets sit inside a citrus and avocado orchard, private and quiet and nestled in the trees - guests tell us it feels like they're somewhere properly rural. A regular work traveller once told us Kerigold is their favourite motel to stay at in all of New Zealand. Why Guests Come Back
A good share of our bookings are returning guests, and everyone has their own reason. Some ask for their specific favourite chalet. Some come back for the privacy and the orchard setting, some for being able to walk to town, and plenty come back for the team - our staff know our regulars personally, and that friendly, personal relationship is a big part of what a small motel can offer that a big hotel can't.
And When Something Goes Wrong?
No motel gets everything right every night, and we'd rather tell you how we handle it than pretend otherwise. Our team fixes problems fast - repairs are done straight away where possible, TV setups get sorted, questions get answered. And if something genuinely can't be fixed on the spot, we'll simply move you to a fresh chalet so the problem is solved and your stay carries on. Making sure guests enjoy their stay matters more to us than being right.
