Paihia is 25 minutes away, dolphin watching, the Hole in the Rock cruise, Russell by ferry, sailing, kayaking, and swimming at Paihia Beach.
The Packhouse Market (Saturday mornings) and Kerikeri Farmers Market are both worth a visit. Excellent cafes and restaurants are a 2 min / 200m walk.
